PlayStation Home Causing Frame Rate Issues In Borderlands for PS3?

After picking up Borderlands for the PS3 this Saturday, people have been reporting numerous issues. Such as:

  • The inability to go online and host a co-op match. (fixed)
  • Play for more than a couple of hours without the PS3 freezing. (varied)
  • Massive frame rate issues. (varied but fixable)
Well, I've only had one of the above problems - frame rate issues. It was a real shame, because I've really been enjoying the game, and would enjoy it even more if the game was a bit smoother. Well, I believe I've found a solution.

All I did was lower the reserved HDD space in PlayStation Home from 12GB, to 3GB. That's it. It's the only thing that seemed to work. I tried lowering my output resolution from 1080p to 480p, deleting videos, pictures and game data from games I no longer have, etc. - but none of that worked. Just changing the reserved HDD space in PlayStation Home made such a big difference. The game felt like 60fps in comparison to how it was before. It could be the fact that I freed up a lot of space on my hard drive, but it worked!

If you've been having frame rate problems in Borderlands for PS3, try doing this and tell us if it has helped you at all in the comments section below.
